Men of Tolentine Support Augustinian Vocations

Alumni of Mendel Catholic High School, Chicago, and friends of the Augustinians gather at the first all-school reunion, held Thanksgiving week-end, 1998. Brecht, O.S.A., Prior Provincial, Augustinians of the Midwest; and Dave Maher, Village Clerk, Orland Park, Illinois. More than 900 alumni attended the event. The Men of Tolentine support Augustinian vocations and Augustinian seminary programs.

The Men of Tolentine was organized in 1958 by the Very Rev. John L. Seary, O.S.A., who was Provincial of the Midwest Augustinian Province at the time.

The association's purpose is to foster vocations to the Augustinian Order and support Augustinian formation programs.

Since 1958, the men have raised more than $550,000 for those purposes, primarily through their Man of the Year Banquet held each October.

Rev. Thomas R. McCarthy, O.S.A. was honored October 11, 2007 by the Men of Tolentine as their 2007 Man of the Year.
