Home > Privacy Policy
The Augustinians of the Midwest Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel respect your privacy.
Personal Information: The only personal information collected by this Web site is information which you voluntarily submit to us.
When you use one of the Contact forms on this Web site in order to offer comments or request information from the Augustinians of the Midwest, you will be asked to submit your name and e-mail address. Some forms also request your postal address and telephone number. This is to enable us to respond to your inquiry.
When we respond, we will or may send you e-mail pertaining to the subject of your communication. If you request printed materials that we might have, we will send these to you via postal mail. If you supply a telephone number and a telephone response is considered appropriate, we may telephone you.
If you submit an e-mail address of a friend using our Tell a Friend feature, we will send one and only one e-mail message to your friend, with a copy to you.
The Augustinians of the Midwest will not sell, trade, rent, share or disclose your e-mail address, postal address, telephone number or other submitted personal information to/with any other person(s) or group(s) without your expressed permission (unless required to do so by law or by a court order).
The Augustinians of the Midwest will not send or cause to be sent to your e-mail or postal address any commercial advertising without your expressed permission. We do not send spam.
Security: Messages submitted via the Contact forms on this Web site are sent through ordinary e-mail, which is not 100 per cent secure. We recommend that any personal information of a highly confidential nature, such as credit card numbers, not be sent to us using these forms.
Only the Online Giving form, which encrypts all data using Secure Socket Layer (S.S.L.) technology, offers secure transmission of confidential information, including credit card numbers. We are confident of the security of our Online Giving form.
Once we receive submitted information, we make every effort to protect it from any possible misuse. Depending on the type of inquiry, we do retain some names, addresses and other contact information in our files for varying lengths of time. This is to ensure that our responses to your inquiries are appropriate and adequate, and to facilitate follow-up in cases where additional communication is desired (for example, when someone requests help in vocational discernment). These files are not accessible to the general public.
Web Server Logs: When a visitor accesses our Web site, our Web servers automatically recognize and log information which the visitor's browser makes available: for example, date, time, browser type, Internet Protocol address (which is a series of numbers), domain name, referring page (if any), and which pages of our site the visitor views. This information does not contain anything that personally identifies any of our visitors. Our Web servers do not automatically record e-mail addresses of the visitors. We examine data in our Web server logs to help us understand our traffic, to improve our site, to diagnose potential problems and to investigate any misuse that may occur.
Children: This Web site is not directed to children under the age of 13 years. This site does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 years. We ask that persons under the age of 13 not submit information on their own. We encourage parents to participate actively in their children's Internet experience. (cf. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998)
