The Augustinian friars of the Midwest Province have been ministering to St. Rita Parish since its foundation in 1905 and we continue to offer service through the sharing of the spirituality of St. Augustine the great African bishop and spiritual founder of our Order.

In 2020, St. Clare of Montefalco was combined with St. Rita Parish by the Archdiocese of Chicago. This was a “homecoming” for the Augustinians, as the Midwest Province had a long history with St. Clare. In 1909, the Midwest Province began serving at St. Clare when it was a new mission parish. St. Clare became an official parish in 1916. In the 2000s, the Augustinians were not able to staff the parish, and their fellow mendicant brothers, the Franciscans, took over the parish until 2020.

We share Christ’s Light and our Faith is deepened as we celebrate the diversity of our Parish. We believe that God is Love, and when we live in love we live in God and God lives in us!  Therefore we, the Parish Family of Saint Turibius, dedicate ourselves to living out Christ’s Great commandment:  we will love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength, and we will show our love for God by the way we love and care for one another.
