Feast Day Mass of Saint Rita of Cascia

Come celebrate the Feast of St. Rita of Cascia, the Patron Saint of Impossible Causes!  We will be celebrating by completing our novena at the St. Rita Shrine Chapel at St. Rita High School in Chicago.  Morning Mass begins at 10:00 AM, evening Mass will 7:00 p.m. Reconciliation is available 30 minutes before each Mass.  Everyone is invited to celebrate this iconic saint of the Augustinian Order!

Save the dates of March 6, 7, 8, 2017 for our Lenten Retreat with Father Tom McCarthy, O.S.A. as he speaks about “Treasures of our Faith: The Seven Sacraments.” Each night of the retreat will be preceded by a simple meal of soup and bread at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Retreat in the Cathedral at 7:00 p.m.

Saint Augustine is our Holy Father, spiritual guide, and founder of the Augustinians' way of life.  Please join us as we commemorate his feast day!  At this celebration, Brothers Stephen Isley, O.S.A., and Joe Ruiz, O.S.A., will profess their solemn (perpetual) vows in the Augustinian Order!  Please join us for this ceremony which will conclude their Augustinian Formation.

In our time here at Saint Matthew, many Augustinians have left indelible marks on the thousands of lives that have filled these pews.  And while it is true that we will be leaving Flint by the end of this year, it is also true that we will continue to walk together with you in spirit on our journey toward knowing God.  Please join the Augustinians in celebrating one final Mass of Thanksgiving in Flint, with a reception to follow.

The closing celebration of the Midwest Augustinian Province's 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee will be held at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel.  Though St. Rita has since moved its geographical location, it is among the first sites of service of the Augustinians in the Midwest.  Please join in this historic event!

Before men can become ordained priests, they need to first be ordained as deacons in the Catholic Church.  Brothers Carlos Medina, O.S.A.; Richie Mercado, O.S.A.; and Joseph Aloysius Murray, O.S.A.; will be ordained to the diaconate as the next step of their Augustinian formation.  Please join us at St. Rita of Cascia Parish in Chicago and support them on their spiritual journeys toward the priesthood!

Cascia Hall's Marked for Life Gathering: Celebrating the Augustinians' 75 Years

For generations, the Augustinians have been our teachers, preachers, pastors, headmasters, retreat directors, chaplains, counselors, and spiritual guides.  Though the Augustinians founded Cascia Hall in 1926, the Province of Our Mother of Good Counsel was officially founded in 1941.  We are inviting all those that have been a special part of this 75-year journey of faith to celebrate in this landmark event with us.
