Augustinians of the Midwest are encouraged to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, March 21, 2014, with prayer, reflection, witness and action individually, in their communities and in their ministries. "Archaeological Remains of St. Augustine's North Africa" Video Online!
In 2000, Fr. David L. Brecht, O.S.A., an honoree of the 2014 Augustinian Gala, published a short documentary detailing an archaeological story of St. Augustine in North Africa. St. Augustine was the bishop of Hippo in present-day Algeria. Please view and share the video!

Ambassador Francis Rooney Publishes New Book: Global Vatican
Francis Rooney, Augustinian Affiliate and retired U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican, recently published a new book, Global Vatican. The book illustrates the role of the Catholic Church throughout history, and particularly its diplomatic relations with foreign countries. The book provides both historical perspective as well as more current positions of the city-state.
Groundbreaking Celebration in Edwardsburg, Michigan!
In early March, Our Lady of the Lake Parish, in the Diocese of Kalamazoo, Michigan, will break ground on its expanding church. The groundbreaking is the result of a $2.2 million campaign. Read for more info!
Pope Francis Announces New Augustinian Bishop
Pope Francis has named another Augustinian Bishop, the Vatican announced on February 10. José Demetrio Jiménez Sanchez-Mariscal, OSA, of the Province of Spain and of the Vicariate of Argentina has been named by Pope Francis as Bishop of the Prelature of Cafayate, Argentina. Read more.

On Saturday, January 25, a total of ten Peruvian Augustinian novices professed their first vows. The Very Rev. Fidel Alvarado, O.S.A., Regional Vicar of Peru, received the vows, as pictured in the Photo Gallery. We congratulate these men and pray for their continued spiritual journey!
