Year-end IRA Distributions for Charitable Gifts are Tax-Free and Still Encouraged

Midwest Augustinian Advancement Director Michael Gerrity wants to be sure that all donors age 70 and ½ or older know that they can make charitable gifts from their IRAs to meet the government’s annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Donors can take up to $100,000 from their IRA and give it to a qualified charity like the Midwest Augustinians, which covers the RMD and is not included in your income for tax purposes. The gift can be designated for our retired and infirm men, our new vocations program, or for our missions among the rural poor in Northern Peru. For more information please contact Michael Gerrity at 312-241-9696 or mikewger@gmail.com; or contact Province Advancement Council Vice-chairman Don Berschback at 313-682-0404 or donberschback@yahoo.com. You are advised to consult with your tax advisor if you have any questions. Merry Christmas and a very happy and peaceful 2022!
